An Activity for School-Age:
Give dad a card that really stands up!
Before You Begin:
Gather the following materials to create this special gift: craft rolls, markers, paint, construction paper and any collage items desired for decorating.
Activity Goals:
To create a unique standing card for dad.
Furthermore:
This activity encourages out-of-the-box thinking as children create a unique standing card with a personalized message.
Let's Get Started
STEP 1
Make a sign or two with a message for dad using paint, markers and other collage materials. Set aside to dry.
STEP 2
Draw a self-portrait vertically on the tube of an art roll.
STEP 3
Cut slits in the top of the roll to hold the sign above the portrait's head.
STEP 4
Place the dried sign into the slits above the picture.
STEP 5
Place the art in a place dad will find it, such as the kitchen counter or next to his sink.
