Before You Begin:
Fill spray bottles with Colorations® Liquid Watercolor. Gather other supplies needed.
Activity Goals:
Expose children to a seasonal lacing activity
Promote fine motor skills
Furthermore:
String a variety of different types of beads together to make bracelets and necklaces.
Let's Get Started
STEP 1
String about 4 inches of red pony beads onto a pipe cleaner. Repeat 9 more times.
STEP 2
Twist pipe cleaner to close off the tops and the bottoms and manipulate to form an apple shape.
STEP 3
String about 5 inches of green pony beads on to a pipe cleaner to create a stem.
STEP 4
Fold a 10 inch piece of Rexlace in half.
STEP 5
After you cut the Rexlace, fold in half, put both ends through the ring.
STEP 6
Pull the cording until the middle of the string is near the ring.
STEP 7
Next, put the ends of the cording through the loop, pull through and tighten it.
STEP 8
Thread both ends of the cording through beads. Be sure that the beads have holes that are big enough for two strands of cording.
STEP 9
Tie a double knot at the end to secure the beads. Then trim the extra string off.
