4 and up: 45 Minutes: Holiday: WinterStuffed Bag Snowpals
An Activity for School-age Children:
Create a fun snowman companion!
Before You Begin:
Gather the art supplies needed: butcher paper, wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, a wood sample block, a few sticks, a glue gun, ribbon or fabric, markers, black felt or buttons.
Activity Goals:
To create a fun winter character for holiday dramatic play.
Furthermore:
If a glue gun is not available, or if you choose not to use one around children, you may use a stapler, duct tape or washable glue to attack items to your snowpal.
Let's Get Started
STEP 1
Crumple up a couple large sheets of butcher paper, or stuff two white paper bags with materials such as old scrap paper.
STEP 2
Using a glue gun, glue one body piece to a wood block. Then, glue the second body piece on top of the first.
STEP 3
Cut buttons, eyebrows, a nose and a mouth out of felt.
STEP 4
Glue each piece onto the snowpal where desired. Add sticks for arms, ribbon for a scarf and pipe cleaners for hair.
