Patriotic Necklace

An Activity for Preschoolers:
Celebrate Independence Day with necklaces bearing red, white and blue!
Before You Begin:
Gather the following materials to create these patriotic necklaces: plain wooden beads, paint, brushes, scissors, tape and yarn or cord.
Activity Goals:
To create a colorful, wearable necklace for celebrating Independence Day.
Furthermore:
Depending on the ages, abilities and preferences of the children, they may paint each bead a single color or use multiple colors on individual beads for even more unique designs.
Children may also create bracelets by following the same process with a smaller piece of yarn or cord.
Let's Get Started
STEP 1
Paint wooden beads in red, white and blue tones. Allow the painted beads to dry.
STEP 2
Cut a length of yarn or cord for stringing the beads and place a strip of tape at one end to keep the beads from falling off.
STEP 3
Once the beads are dry, string the red, white and blue painted beads in any pattern desired.
STEP 4
After stringing the desired number of beads, remove the tape from the end and tie the two ends together in a tight knot.
