An Activity for School-Age:
Build teamwork in your own classroom campground.
Before You Begin:
Prepare for your campfire by gathering up the following pieces of camping equipment: Extra-long craft rolls, tissue paper (in red, orange and yellow), glue, a piece of cardboard, black construction paper and gray craft paper.
Activity Goals:
To practice teamwork by assembling a campfire craft together.
Furthermore:
Fall is a great time for camping. The air is cool and crisp, and these faux campfires are great way to simulate the experience.
By dividing up duties and working together, children will practice teamwork while creating a fun dramatic play campfire.
Let's Get Started
STEP 1
Paint the extra-long craft rolls brown.
STEP 2
Create the base by gluing black construction paper to a piece of cardboard.
STEP 3
Glue wadded up craft paper to the base in a circle to represent a circle of stones.
STEP 4
Once the glue is dry, stack the logs onto the base and adhere them together with glue or double-sided tape.
STEP 5
To represent fire, take pieces of red, orange and yellow tissue paper, lightly crinkle them, and glue them to the logs in random spots.
STEP 6
